Abrot (pronounced AH-BRO-T) was founded upon the simple idea of sharing handbags with a story. Each bag has a unique inspiration that we feel is important for you to know. We believe that having perspective of the heart and soul that was poured into a bag drives a deeper sense of appreciation for it. When you wear one of our bags, you will not only look great, but also feel great knowing the story behind it.
The name Abrot is the Polish word for bag, Torba, spelled backwards. Abrot was founded by natives of Poland who would travel home and bring back finely crafted handbags that could not be found in the United States. The showers of compliments around the bags made it clear that there had to be a way to share these European gems stateside. By working with highly skilled purse makers across Europe, Abrot selects handmade bags that have an unparalleled look and feel. And also a really great story.

It's probably cliche, but the City Lights' inspiration came from a visit to Paris during Christmas. While driving down the Champs-Elysées, the designer was awestruck by the beauty of the bright lights that surrounded him. The christmas lights on the trees, the bright Arc de Triomphe, and even the glow of the tail lights of the surrounding traffic made the drive surreal. Each of the City lights bags emulate a glow.

Brown Melody
A visit to the symphony hall in Krakow inspired the Orange Melody. The unique orange baton of an orchestra conductor made a typically conservative instrument appear new and fresh. The brown velvet curtains looked quite comfortable, almost making our designer want to wrap herself in it. Things one notices when bored (Chopin isn't for everyone). She refrained and instead made this lovely piece with orange accents and a brown suede body.

For a bag that's bright and elegant, the shape is actually modeled after something rather fierce: a medieval warrior's helmet! Can you see it? Of course, you don't necessarily have to channel your inner warrior while wearing this bag.

Leather Care Instructions
Grain Leather - Remove dirt with damp cloth; do not soak the leather, leave to dry at room temperature. Don't rinse the leather in water but polish it with a dry towel. Treat leather with a leather conditioner after it has dried completely.
Suede and Nubuck - Spray your suede/ nubuck item with a product that protects against water damage and other stains. As with any fabric, test a small, unseen patch first. All suede/nubuck items need to breathe. Avoid plastic bags, which prevent air circulation, and opt for a pillowcase instead to protect handbags from dust. Also keep suede/nubuck away from light, which will fade the color, and damp conditions, which can encourage growth of damaging mold and mildew. If suede/nubuck gets wet soak up excess moisture with a clean towel. Then allow the suede/nubuck to dry naturally. Do not use any heat to speed up the process. After the suede item dries, restore the nap (the raised fibers typical of suede) with a suede brush.
To remove oil stains from suede/nubuck handbag run some talcum powder or cornmeal directly on the spot. After several hours, brush off the powder. Repeat if necessary.
Keep in mind that major stains will probably require professional care. Take your leather item to someone who specializes in leather as inexperienced dry cleaners or cobblers can cause more harm than good.
